President Jonathan’s Aide, Reno Omokri Sues Sahara Reporters For Libel [LOOK]

Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has instituted legal proceeding against online media platform, Sahara Reporters over astory with the headline “Jonathan’s Aide, Omokri Burglarizes House In Delta, Carts Away N25Million Meant For Buying Of Votes.”
Omokri had earlier threatened to sue the media house if the story was not retracted and an apology issued. Apparently the warnings fell on deaf ears.
The clergy, speaking through a media statement affirmed that he has gone ahead to instigate a suit at the Delta State High Court of Justice against the media house after the “victim” in question denied ever granting any interview to Sahara Reporters.

The victim of the false eviction, one Alex Oyoro has since Monday, March 30, 2015 sworn an affidavit, meaning the story was purposely published in an attempt to blackmail Mr. Omokri.

Parts of the statement read:

“This fellow is not even my tenant. He is a mere illegal occupant who is being evicted from my legal property, of which I have all the necessary documents, through a legal process yet without verification and investigation, saharareporters.compublished his lies.

“Now I have sued him for libel the illegal occupant is now denying that he never even granted any interview to saharareporters.com. He is claiming that saharareporters.com made up the whole story. Obviously, I know he is lying to save his own skin, but then this is the character that saharareporters.com relied upon to publish their libelous story about me.

“Now that this illegal occupant had denied saharareporters.com, what are they going to do? This is precisely why my New York lawyers wrote them and also wrote their sponsors to ask them to apologize for slandering me or face consequences.

“My lawyers will based on this evidence suesaharareporters.com directly and reserves the right to also sue other news outlets that carried the libelous story.”
